Newport Black Dining Table with Shaped Top

The table and chairs I bought is awesome. Sturdy yet beautiful. I LOVE IT!! I surprised my husband by buying it and he was surprised by the price and the great offer on shipping.

I ordered the table with the four chairs to match. We put the chairs together first. They were easy to put together and attractive. The table was very poorly packaged and had a quarter size gouge on one edge. Had we not already had the matching chairs, I would have returned it for a refund but returned it instead for a replacement. The replacement table arrived with a similar problem that was not as pronounced, so we decided to keep it since it is being used in a downstairs area that gets little traffic. The table is heavy (about 50 lbs) and required more robust packaging.

My husband and I have a 900 square foot ranch style home and need to make every foot of space count. The most company we have is another couple for dinner, so we just bought this table and one pair of chairs and simply LOVE IT! It is solidly-made of wood, not wood byproducts. It is put together with two bolts per corner, while the chairs also have two bolts from seat to back, and plywood screws to hold the sidebars and seat. I assembled the table and one chair Friday evening after work, while waiting up for my husband to come home from his job. The instructions are OK if you go by pictures; just lay out all the bolts in groups of sizes first, and make sure when you put the chair together that the pre-drilled holes face UP to screw in the seat. Well made, well-packed without a scratch, sturdy and comfortable. Fits our needs perfectly at a price we could afford. Thank you!

This was a fantastic buy! It took me less then 10 minutes to assemble, it looks great. I have recieved a lot of compliments on this table and it is the least expensive piece of furniture in my house. I've used it for over two weeks now and it looks like it will hold up well in the long run. Plates and loaded bowls have been slid across the surace and there is no scratching o the finish whatsoever. My concern was that the legs would look a bit too distressed, but they are actually solid black, which is what I actually wanted. The only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 is that the item arrived with it's box pretty beat up. One edge of the table did suffer slight damage which no one notices until I point it out. It is a bit small, I would say it is a table for two more then a table for 4.
