I was really having a hard time finding a modern, yet not too "out there" design. This one however, fit the bill both aesthetically speaking, as well as in regards to quality. I was really impressed with both the weight and size. The wooden handles hold up really well during washing (although I never leave them soaking) but the handles are a little more dull (matte) than I had imagined. I was maybe considering trying some sort of mineral oil treatment? Other than that I love them!! I would definitely recommend, for the price, and for the 18/8 content, they are WELL worth it!

Doesn't go in the dishwasher, May 24, 2008

I needed new everyday flatware. I must have missed where it said it is not dishwasher safe...I'm not going to handwash my daily flatware. I've had it in the dishwasher and so far so good. Nice weight to the pieces, they feel like you are holding something. They are very pretty. For the price I think it's a fair deal.

The flatware was very classy looking and good quality. The workmanship was not flawless (but what is nowadays under a grand?) still it is very lovely and sturdy. Not for dishwashers though. All in all a great value.

I absolutely love these. I was worried that the black would fade in the dishwasher but it doesn't. They are so heavy,fit your hand perfectly and are so beautiful.
